Cuandixia is an ancient Ming-era village in Zhaitang, Mentougou District in Beijing. Approximately 90 km to the west of central Beijing, the village sits at an elevation of 650 meters above sea level. The village is home to well-preserved Ming-era buildings, approximately 70 in number. The buildings are only around one to two storeys high. The village has become a kind of local tourist attraction. Visitors can dine with resident families at Cuandixia and even lodge overnight. The village also contains remnants of propaganda, most notably those from the Cultural Revolution era. |
